In October of 2009 I had a laparoscopic surgery done for extremely painful periods. When I had initially gone to the hospital, the scans did not show my appendix and doctors were worried that it had ruptured. While they were doing surgery they removed several cyst off of my ovaries as well as my appendix. It turns out that I had so much fluids left from my cyst that it had caused the organs around my appendix to become inflamed which was hiding my appendix. It was during this surgery as well I was diagnosed with PCOS and told I would probably never be able to have children. Over the years after I also gained a lot of weight now matter how much or little I ate. It also felt like the typical “diet” to lose weight was also not yielding any results. I even eventually completely stopped having a period all together.

Skip forward to the year 2016 when I began to work with Dr. Partovi on my health. I was first diagnosed by him with diabetes with an A1C of 13.5. I knew at this point it was really time to get some help in getting my health and weight back on track. Dr. Partovi did what’s called a SWAMI which is based on eating the right foods for your blood type. He went over all of the foods to avoid and what foods would be the most beneficial to me and he helped aid me in sticking to the diet. He was able to guide me in the grocery store on how to read labels and what types of things to look for. While it was difficult at first it became easier once I had been doing it for a while. Slowly by following his advice on diet and nutraceuticals the weight started to come off and my periods returned to normal. I went from well over 200 lbs down to 130 lbs. My A1C dropped back into normal range and is now controlled through diet alone. My cardiovascular inflammation returned to normal and my cholesterol dropped back into the normal range. On top of my health finally returning to normal I had a lot more energy than I had had in a long time and my moods felt much better. I now have 2 beautiful baby boys ages 1 and 2 who I was able to conceive naturally without any medical intervention or fertility treatments. I can 100% without a doubt say that without Dr. Partovi’s help I never would have been able to get my health back under control and I would not have 2 baby boys. What I respect the most about Dr. Partovi is he doesn’t just medicate to mask the symptoms or health issues you are having, he takes the time to pinpoint the problem and correct it.
