Meet Dr. Ryan Partovi, JD, NMD, MIFHI, and Mrs. Madi Partovi: The Story Behind Aspen Wellness Institute and The Partovi Effect

He is the doctor of doctors. He doctors with a lion’s heart, and that lion’s heart shows up in our relationship, in our marriage, and as a father to our boys.

That is how I, Mrs. Madi Partovi, introduce my husband in one of the most personal episodes of The Partovi Effect to date. Episode 11 is our origin story. Not just of a medical practice, but of a partnership built on shared purpose, hard won experience, and the kind of conviction that only comes from having lived through the failures of the system we are now working to replace. In this episode, we lay out who we are, how we got here, and why Aspen Wellness Institute exists.

My journey toward medicine began around age 17 when I realized there were so many things I was interested in that I would need seven lifetimes to do them all. That curiosity led me to anti aging and longevity medicine, to undergraduate research in the mitochondrial theory of aging at Emory University, through law school at Southern Methodist University where I specialized in health and environmental law, and ultimately into medical education at St. George’s University and then the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. I completed the first residency of its kind in generative medicine, the application of computer analysis to personalized medicine, and went on to become secretary of the generative medicine specialty board under the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

After nearly eight years of running an insurance based primary care practice in San Diego, Madi and I made the decision to go fully cash pay. The insurance model was simply incompatible with the kind of care we are committed to providing. Where the insurance system rewards 15 minute visits and penalizes thoroughness, I was spending up to three hours with new patients, running over 100 labs across more than 40 panels, and investigating root causes that most conventional providers never look for. Every minute past 15 with a patient, you start losing money. After 40 minutes, you are giving your time away. It was not sustainable.

Madi brings her own extraordinary journey to this partnership. A holistic health practitioner and massage therapist who worked in sports medicine before opening Yoga Monkey, a yoga, Pilates, and wellness studio, she is also a survivor of a devastating bicycle accident that left her right leg rebuilt with titanium and 11 screws. That experience gave her a deep respect for the lifesaving capacity of conventional medicine while reinforcing her commitment to a more holistic approach. We began building the practice together as early as 2016, before we were even married. During our courtship, we created who we are as a couple and who we are for the planet.

Idiopathic means you just don’t know which labs to order. If your diagnosis contains the word “itis” or describes how you feel instead of telling you why, you have not yet found the cause. That is where we begin.
I got pregnant and gave birth to our first son at 39 and our second at 43, both naturally. The pathway to pregnancy can be one of joy, precision, and individuality, not another round of IVF.
When COVID arrived, we were already positioned for it. I had years of experience treating biotoxin illness, particularly mold illness, and once the Salk Institute confirmed that the SARS CoV 2 spike protein was itself a biotoxin, the overlap with my existing specialty became impossible to ignore. After discovering the work of the FLCCC through a Brett Weinstein interview with Dr. Pierre Khoury, our practice became one of the first 125 providers on the FLCCC list and one of the first 500 practices in the country treating COVID on an outpatient basis.

Our approach went far beyond prescriptions. We supported patients through prevention, post exposure prophylaxis, active treatment, and even hospital rescues where patients facing ventilation were treated at home with protocols including home IVs, high flow oxygen, and BiPAP. Patients at the most severe stage of COVID pneumonia treated in our practice were approximately seven and a half times more likely to survive than those placed on ventilators in hospitals. Today, we continue to treat long COVID, post vaccine injury, turbo cancers, autoimmune conditions, POTS, myocarditis, and the full spectrum of spike protein related illness.

The fertility arm of our practice is equally personal. Madi’s own experience conceiving naturally at 39 and 43 informs the message we share with every couple who walks through our door: natural pregnancy is possible even into your forties, and the path does not have to run through the conventional fertility industry. We focus on removing toxic exposures, optimizing nutrition according to individual physiology, and restoring the body to a state where fertility happens as it has for the vast majority of human history.

Aspen Wellness Institute specializes in four areas: COVID and spike protein illness, cancer support, health and wellness optimization, and fertility. For anyone who has been through a dozen or more doctors without answers, who has been handed a diagnosis that describes a symptom but never explains a cause, or who simply wants the kind of care that puts the patient first, this is where to start.

We are Dr. Ryan Partovi, JD, NMD, MIFHI and Mrs. Madi Partovi. This is The Partovi Effect. And we are just getting started.
